As a Wiltshire councillor whose residents include those of Cepen Park South in Chippenham I felt I must respond to the negative comments made by Coun Chivers in last week’s Gazette & Herald.
Any highway improvements to the A350 must be warmly welcomed but they must not be looked upon in isolation.
If we see improvements to one of the pathways to Wiltshire it will have benefits to other towns along this commercial and tourist route.
As councillors we must always be looking at the bigger picture and seeking to improve our wonderful county.
I am looking forward to seeing many improvements to our highway network and hope that we will see both an increase in new employers and new jobs created, but also an increase in tourists visiting our wide variety of attractions.
