After last summer’s Olympics and Paralympics the country was fired up at the achievements of all our athletes, but especially those in the Paralympics.
Many of those competing in the equestrian events were encouraged by their involvement with the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA).
Riding and carriage driving with RDA groups offer those with disability the opportunity to do something on the same level as an able-bodied person, giving them a psychological boost as well as the physical benefits that riding and carriage driving gives – improved co-ordination, muscle power and balance, to name three.
Our group, Kennet Valley Driving Group, is very short of helpers and without volunteers we can’t keep going. If anyone is thinking of volunteering, could they please consider coming to help us?
We meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays. No horse experience is necessary, but a willingness to help is! I can be contacted for more information or a chat.
