I felt I must write about ‘Closure causes stress’ (letters, May 2).
To the person who wrote about the gap closure at Pretty Chimneys in Chippenham, how selfish and uncaring to write this letter. Have you no feelings for the relations who lost three young men on this stretch of road?
It’s not a waste of money. Well done Coun Bill Douglas. This road should have been closed years ago and all exits should be closed.
Well, noise in garden, poor you. At least you are still alive to hear it. You knew what sort of road it was. Why buy a property there?
Many people may say £180,000 is a lot of money. The grieving relations would disagree. They would pay more to have their sons and husbands back here.
Spare a thought for the loss on this road.
P Nash, Lowerfield, Chippenham.
