Coronation Street star Craig Charles is one of the final artists confirmed for WOMAD 2013.

Charles, who has also starred in the hit comedy Red Dwarf and fronted game show Robot Wars, has hosted The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show on BBC radio since 2002.

He performs DJ sets at clubs and festivals nationally and internationally and has confirmed he will be appearing at WOMAD.

Other acts announced in the final line-up include Afrocentric hip-hoppers Arrested Development from Atlanta, USA.

American Joseph Arthur, the celebrated singer-songwriter from Ohio who was discovered by Peter Gabriel in the nineties, will also be bringing his music to Charlton Park.

Former Mercury Prize nominee Ed Harcourt from London and French ska band Babylon Circus have also been added to the bill.

WOMAD has launched a new partnership with Ecotricity, which will see the green energy company sponsor a stage at the festival this year.

Ecotricity will be hosting Molly’s Green Bar, which will see electro-swing cabaret, big skirts, china teacups and swinging grooves.

Dale Vince, Ecotricity’s founder, said: “In all my years as a traveller, I have been to a lot of festivals but I never made it to WOMAD, so it will be great to come along and experience what I’ve heard so much about.”

Other artists confirmed for WOMAD earlier this year range from Toots & The Maytals, Gilberto Gil, Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 to Alice Russell Rokia Traoré and David Rodigan MBE.

WOMAD takes place in Charlton Park, Malmesbury, from July 25-28. Weekend tickets are on sale now and day tickets will become available from June 14.
