Trains services running through Pewsey and Westbury are being delayed by up to 30 minutes or will be diverted at short notice because a freight train has hit a tree that has fallen on the line.
First Great Western is attempting to lay on alternative bus travel where appropriate.
Services from Devon and Cornwall are also subject to delays.
