Marlborough Town Council is supporting an area board project to install electrical points in the High Street during the re-surfacing of Marlborough High Street in the summer.
The aim is to reduce the need for generators during the Mop fairs, markets and possibly the jazz festival.
At the town council meeting on Monday the mayor, Guy Loosmore, said: “What we need to focus on is the ducting, putting in the basic infrastructure.”
Coun Nick Fogg had proposed that unallocated funding from the area board budget be used. This was agreed on condition that further information be provided at the next area board meeting on Tuesday.
