This year’s Devizes and Roundway in Bloom awards will recognise gardening heroes who goes out of their way to make their community looking pretty.

Zena Robson, chairman of the Bloom committee, said: “If you have a neighbour who not only tends their own patch but also other people’s, or who clears a communal area of weeds and rubbish, or mows the grass where nobody else does, please put their name forward as an acknowledgement of their community spirit and hard work.”

In Bloom is still open for entries from people proud of their hanging baskets or planted containers. Forms are available from the town hall or Elanor Oddy on (01380) 733160 .

This year, the committee has organised an open gardens weekend on June 15 and 16, when 20 gardens will open from 11am to 5pm, in aid of the mayor’s charities. Maps are on sale at the town hall.
