More than 50 businesses in and around Royal Wootton Bassett have pledged to turn green tomorrow as Royal Wootton Bassett Business Association and the NSPCC work together to raise funds for the charity’s Green Gear Day.

Businesses will be decorating their windows in green bunting and balloons, with some wearing green fancy dress, selling green cakes, and holding competitions.

The NSPCC will have a stall in the High Street with information on the work it is carrying out locally and selling raffle tickets.

Hazel Newson, Royal Wootton Bassett Business Association member and Dandelion gift shop proprietor, said: “We had such great fun raising money by turning the town pink for Cancer Research last October that we just couldn’t turn down the opportunity to do something this year for the NSPCC.

“It is fantastic that so many different businesses are coming together to help make the day a really special one.”

Belinda Showering, NSPCC representative in Royal Wootton Bassett, said: “We are grateful for the positive support from the Business Association, and hope that the people of Royal Wootton Bassett will join in and help raise vital money to support NSPCC services in the area.”
