A team of young artists from Corsham are helping organise a new exhibition, aimed at promoting the best young artists from across the south west.

Five sixth form students from the Corsham School are involved in running the Conscious/Subconscious exhibition at the Pound Arts Centre, which will display works from artists aged 16 to 24.

One of the students Andrew Stott said: “We are working hard to make the exhibition the best it can be, and we are now in the process of selecting an independent judging panel.”

Submissions will be divided into three age categories, with a £200 prize on offer for the winners from each. A further £100 People’s Prize will also be given, voted for by the gallery visitors.

Siwan Williams, learning and participation co-ordinator at the Pound, said the exhibition was a good opportunity to showcase local young people’s artistic talent in a professional gallery environment.
