Wiltshire Police sector changes announced
9:40am Wednesday 3rd April 2013 in News
Two Neighbourhood Policing Teams in Wiltshire changed their boundaries on Tuesday.
Melksham’s team moved from the Trowbridge sector to the Devizes and Marlborough section, which is being led by Inspector Matt Armstrong.
The sector has been renamed the Devizes and Melksham sector with the Marlborough Neighbourhood Policing Team moving to the Royal Wootton Bassett section.
The team, led by Inspector Mark Thompson, will be renamed the Royal Wootton Bassett sector.
Superintendent Gavin Williams, Local Policing North, said: “These changes are about bringing clarity of command and greater efficiency to the NPT sectors.
"The people of Marlborough and Melksham will continue to be well served by Wiltshire Police. They should benefit from the clearer lines of responsibility.”
The move has seen no staff cuts.
