Chippenham charity The Rise Trust has scored a hat- trick with three outstanding Ofsted grades for its pre-schools in six months.

The Rise Children’s Centre at St Paul’s Primary School was awarded the top grade in every category after its inspection on January 30 this year.

It follows one at the nearby Early Excellence Centre @ The Oaks in November and at Spring Rise Children’s Centre at Frogwell last July.

Chief executive Pauline Monaghan said the staff, parents and children were all thrilled to have achieved three outstanding grades from Ofsted in such a short space of time. The latest inspection report reads: “Families and children thoroughly enjoy the varied programmes on offer, which have a strong focus on children’s learning through play.

“The centre is able to provide highly effective, personalised support itself, jointly with others, or to signpost families to the most appropriate agency within its extensive network of partner agencies.” Gill Hanlan, the head of early years and childcare for Wiltshire Council, said: “Only a close and supportive team could have achieved that marvellous result for the children and families.

“I would like to congratulate all the staff, volunteers and parents that support The Rise Children’s Centre.

“The inspection report is truly outstanding in all aspects of their work.”

Ofsted recommended the centre improves the proportion of men who access the family learning courses during the week by working with partner agencies to develop more activities which interest and engage them.

The Rise Trust, a Christ-ian community regeneration charity, began in 2003 and now provides support services across Chippenham and surrounding villages.

It has three children’s centres, two Early Excellence Centres – providing daycare for two to four-year-olds – four youth groups, an in-school mentoring service, parenting and adult learning courses, an after school club and regular community lunches for pensioners.
