The Springfields Academy is hosting a charitable trust golf day on Saturday, February 9, at Woodbridge Park Golf Club in Brinkworth.

All proceeds from the event will go towards the school’s charitable trust.

The Woodbridge Park Golf Club’s course is well-known in Wiltshire for its lush greens and fairways, but also for its challenges: golfers will face water hazards, bunkers and other tricky obstacles.

It is hoped the day will become an annual event in the same way as the academy’s popular summer ball.

Everyone who takes part in the golf day will also have the chance of winning prizes in the 18-hole Stableford team competitions for nearest pin, longest drive and nearest line. There will be prizes for the winning team and the individual highest score.

The Chippenham Motor Company has offered to award a new car to anyone who manages to sink a hole in one and prizes have been donated by TBT Ltd and Creative Communications Company.

Kevin Derby, residential child care officer at the academy, said: “We’re sure the golf day will be a smashing event for all the participants. And not only that, we’re delighted to be raising funds for such a worthy cause, The Springfields Academy’s Charitable Trust, in the process. ”

Refreshments will be served in the clubhouse.
