THERE has been a considerable drop in crime in the town centre over the last 12 months, according to the manager of the Devizes CCTV system.
In his report to the town council, Noel Woolrych, the CCTV manager, said no plate glass windows had been broken since October 30 last year and only a small amount of mainly accidental damage has been done by yobs in the town.
But Mr Woolrych said: “There is still an issue around shoplifting, mostly from supermarkets, who could do more to improve their security and alcohol-related anti-social behaviour associated with late-night venues at weekends.”
