YOU have previously published a number of letters of mine critical of James Gray MP. But on one topic it seems he and I have exactly the same view: Trump.
In his column (February 2) he wrote of President Trump: “He talks arrant nonsense... his banning of all passengers from certain countries and seeking registration of Muslims... is stupid, unworkable and despicable in equal measure. His sexism and racism is wholly unacceptable.”
I watched ‘Questions to the Foreign Secretary’ on TV last week, and in the course of two hours, during which perhaps 50 MPs spoke, I counted only three who ‘defended’ Trump. It is heartening to know that almost all our MPs see through Trump’s “arrant nonsense”, recognise his “sexism and racism” for what they are, and will speak out strongly against his views when they are divisive and wrong.
