Writer and university lecturer Josephine Corcoran Horsfall, who moved to Trowbridge in 2003, is to teach a new course in writing radio drama at Wiltshire College.

The 10-week course begins at Devizes and Trowbridge college centres in September.

The course is suitable for people who are new to writing, as well as those with more experience.

Mrs Horsfall has written a successful stage play, short stories and directed her own play, The Songs that Houses Sing, for Radio 4.

She was taught by the previous Poet Laureate Andrew Motion at the University of East Anglia, where she obtained her MA in creative writing.

Mrs Horsfall first combined her writing with teaching writing to university students in Chichester. Over the last decade, Josephine, who has been married to Andrew Horsfall for 16 years, has also been occupied with raising the couple’s two children, Kitty, 11, and John, nine.
