Members of Cherhill Village Theatre are gearing up for an action-packed 10 days on stage which they hope will get residents laughing their socks off.

Producer Maggie Moore and director Mich Angell, who also wrote the script, have a cast of around 20 enthusiastic members, ranging from an eight-year-old to a lady in her eighties.

The pantomime stars Annie Kinge as Cinderella, with her brother Chris playing Buttons, and will follow the traditional Cinderella story with a couple of local jokes thrown in.

John Cavanagh, who is part of the production team, said tickets were selling well and performances were always one of the highlights of the social calendar in the village.

He said: “There’s been the odd break, but Cherhill Village Theatre is very proud of its long-lasting history of pantomime productions.

“The village hall is taken over, with the stage extended. It’s very much a village effort.

“There’s been a lot of planning and a lot of work, and of course there’s been an equally huge involvement from people backstage.”
