AFTER a morning meeting in Marlborough for a story I decided to grab some lunch in town before heading back to work.
Following a colleague’s recommendation to try one of the establishments in Hillier’s Yard, I headed down to see what would take my fancy and decided to try out Cosy Bean Coffee Lounge.
Upon entering the light and airy coffee shop I was greeted immediately by two friendly members of staff.
Cosy Bean has a varied lunch menu which includes a selection of hot meals plus sandwiches and bagels. There were also plenty of options for me as a vegetarian.
On the drinks side there was the usual coffee and tea selections along with freshly made milkshakes and smoothies.
I choose to take my meal back to work but the modern coffee lounge also has two floors of seating if you want to eat in.
After perusing the menu I decided on a goat’s cheese and onion chutney bagel, vegetable crisps and a slice of brownie. Not fancying a coffee, I opted for a mango smoothie.
I could really taste the mango in my smoothie, making it very refreshing, perfect on nice spring day.
My bagel was tasty, and had a generous amount of filling.
The vegetable crisps made a nice change to regular ones as they were full of flavour and not salty.
I felt the brownie was more of a cake, but moreish nonetheless and was devoured in no time.
My lunch came to £8.70, more than I would usually spend but worth every penny.
I would definitely come back to Cosy Bean next time I am in Marlborough as there are lots of other options on the menu I would like to try.
