In memory of John Francis and Sarah Enid Phillips who died in May last year. A remarkable couple who enjoyed 67 years of marriage; 50 of those creating a large botanical collection in their woodland garden at Home Covert, Roundway, Devizes. John served in 658 Squadron Air Observation Post 1944-45 NW Europe and after a further year flying in India became managing director of Rawlings James & Phillips of Calne. Among their many local public duties, John was Calne chairman of the Royal British Legion for thirty years and Sarah served the same amount of time as a local magistrate and sat as a governor of Dauntseys school for fifteen years. RIP John and Sarah.
