The latest batch of new homes has been completed at a Wiltshire housing development containing hundreds of properties.

Housing association GreenSquareAccord confirmed it has delivered 17 affordable homes at Hilltop View in Chippenham, as part of the Hunters Moon development built by Taylor Wimpey.

Consent has been granted for up to 450 residential dwellings at Hunters Moon, with phase six of the scheme currently under consultation.

From the latest batch, 11 of properties are reserved for affordable rent while the other six are available under a low-cost ownership scheme.

They range from one-bedroom maisonettes to four-bedroom homes and a bungalow.

The dwellings are all fitted with solar panels and Cllr Robert Yuill, portfolio holder for housing, said this would have a “tremendous” impact on lowering bills and tackling climate challenges.

Denise Woolford, GreenSquareAccord’s development officer, said: “We are proud to provide homes for affordable rent but also to provide an opportunity to get on the property ladder, through our shared ownership scheme, to those who might otherwise be excluded.

“It is fantastic to see the first customers moving into their new homes.”

Alison, a customer who recently moved into her property, added: “I really like my new place and it's already starting to feel like home.

“It’s great to be living in a quiet neighbourhood with access to shops.”
