Floodlights will be installed at the recreation ground skatepark.
Marlborough Town Council ticked the application and will spend around £13k on the job.
The four meter high masts are only due to be switched on in winter months.
The full council meeting on Monday night ratifed the decision, despite a number of local resident objecting, claiming the lights would cause light pollution.
Councillor Guy Loosmore said: “The skateboard park was designed by youngsters and it has been very successful. The lights should have been there a long time ago – let’s get on with it.”
