Hardenhuish School was described as a welcoming and nurturing school when it received national recognition at the Wellbeing for Schools Award earlier this month.
Accredited by the National Children’s Bureau, the award recognises the focus Hardenhuish has places on the wellbeing and mental health of their pupils and staff.
All members of the school community contributed to the verification process, and identified wellbeing as being at the heart of the school.
Headteacher Lisa Percy said: “I am extremely proud that our school has been recognised for the work that has taken place across the school, ensuring that our pupils feel safe, valued, cared for, and proud to be part of our community”.
The report also recognised the importance placed on the link between wellbeing and academic success and the collaborative approach throughout the school, from the new Year 7 pupils all the way through to Year 13, all members of staff, and the Governors at Hardenhuish.
