ADVER Sport assess the performances of the Swindon Town players following the club’s 2-1 win over Forest Green Rovers on Tuesday night.

Lewis Ward: 7

Ward saved a handful of simple efforts before keeping out Adams’ drive midway through the second half, only to be beaten by the goal. He was a little flustered when kicking at times as Rovers pressed, but otherwise he dealt with most things which came his way.

Mandela Egbo: 6

The right-back was given an extremely tough time by Nicky Cadden – one of the best crossers in the league. Egbo allowed Rovers’ danger man to have too much of an effect too often. Going forward, he offered plenty in terms of running and crossing, however. Subbed.

Mathieu Baudry: 8

I am thoroughly enjoying Baudry’s late renaissance at Town. He was so calm on the ball – highlighted when he stepped into midfield and allowed Jack Payne to release Harry McKirdy prior to Louie Barry’s goal. He also provided at least one goal-saving block. Magnifique.

Dion Conroy: 8

Conroy seems to be enjoying his partnership with Baudry. He’s making better decisions and looks calmer. He also gave as good as he got with Jamille Matt, only allowing one headed chance before the powerful striker went off.

Ellis Iandolo: 5

A couple of good crosses were not rewarded with the contact they deserved, but another couple were overhit. His first yellow was silly because there was no need to challenge in the way he did. The second was soft but you have to be careful when you’re already on a yellow, especially with a referee like that. Luckily his ill-discipline did not cost the team on this occasion. Sent off.

Louis Reed: 8

Reed often has more of an effect going forward, but by his own admission post-match it was his defensive work which really caught the eye against Forest Green. His passing was clean and tidy too – the performance of a leader.

Jack Payne: 8

Tuesday night’s display was vintage Payne. Full of energy while also being involved in the key moments. His touched looked to have let him down before the goal, but he recovered the situation perfectly to net the winner. Booked.

Jonny Williams: 7

Williams was in his element against Forest Green, constantly winning fouls to break up the game for his team. Although, he was lucky his mistake on the edge of his own box did not come back to haunt him as Town held on with 10 men. Booked. Subbed.

Louie Barry: 7

Barry netted his sixth goal of the season by running to that area between the posts and latching onto McKirdy’s cross. He’s learned to do that well since arriving. He wasn’t allowed as much freedom to attack due to Kane Wilson’s impressive ability, but the importance of his early goal cannot be understated. Subbed.

Josh Davison: 6

For a guy of Davison’s size, I don’t think it’s unfair to be slightly disappointed with the standard of his hold-up play. He didn’t win too many headers either, but his work rate was excellent – especially in the latter stages.

Harry McKirdy: 7

McKirdy battled through pain in his ankle to provide a super assist for the opening goal while dummying the ball in the build-up to the second. Although he didn’t score, the club’s leading marksman played a significant role in the victory. Booked.

SUBSTITUTES

Akin Odimayo: 7

A mistake-free final half an hour helped Town see out the game. His extra energy largely prevented Kane Wilson from crossing in too many times as he was able to close down quickly.
