SWINDON Town Supporters Trust board member Alex Pollock provides an update on the group’s latest activity - including news surrounding plans to immortalise a club legend.

We’re entering the business end of the season with seven fixtures remaining on the field, and a whole range of exciting projects and developments off the field.

I would not have imagined myself uttering these words a year ago, but: it’s a fantastic time to be involved with STFC!

Earlier this week, we were at the latest Advisory Board meeting, and continue to engage with the club and Official Supporters Club on a variety of topics.

The notes from this session should be available on the club website within the next week or so, but it’s fantastic to see the continued reduction in debt, ongoing progress with The County Ground, and hear more plans for the future from Rob Angus and Clem Morfuni.

Following our AGM in March, we engaged TrustSTFC members on our proposed plans for funding and installing a statue of Don Rogers outside the stadium.

As a result of this consultation, we had a 94 per cent approval rate, and as such, have started to develop discussions and build a plan for bringing this to life.

Yesterday evening, we were welcomed at The County Ground for the annual sponsor’s dinner. We have been honoured to sponsor both Harry McKirdy and Joe Tomlinson and were thrilled to be joined on our tables by some of our TrustSTFC members.

Our thanks to Head of Commercial Danny Lee for putting together a fantastic evening, and showcasing what the club can offer in terms of events and hospitality beyond a matchday.

Tonight we host our first Trust Board Meeting since our AGM and formally welcome those new board members. We’ll be assigning roles and responsibilities to each individual, and setting some goals for the coming year.

Our recruitment campaign this year has been excellent, and with our board now bolstered and everyone bringing new skills and angles to our work, it’s time for us to utilise that for the benefit of the fans and community.

If you have any questions for your Trust board, or for us to share with the club, please do get in touch with us and we’ll be more than happy to assist.

Now, onto a massive game against Newport County on Saturday! COYR!
