MARLBOROUGH kicked off and immediately made an impact with great tackles from Ryan Davies, Matthew Barker and Harry Shakeshaft.

The Corsham side were going backwards and were under pressure from the blitz defence Marlborough were executing.

After a couple of phases, Marlborough finally gained possession from a lineout and mauled it from the 22 line to Corsham’s five metre line.

The ball was then shipped out wide in the backs, with a two man overlap the ball got to Aiden Good who scored under the posts, converted by fly-half Marco Merlina.

After more pressure from the Marlborough forwards, Henry Sewell and Jeremy Morgan helped turn Corsham over and Michael Loveday scored a try in the corner for a 12-0 half-time lead With the wind against them and going uphill, Corsham camped in Marlborough’s 22 for a long period.

Big tackles came in from scrum-half Rory Smith, but Corsham eventually broke through for a try.

But Marlborough kept their composure and just before the end, captain, Tom Rogerson picked up the ball from the back of a ruck and drove over the Corsham line, Merlina converting.
