FORMER BATH, England and British & Irish Lions star Stuart Barnes has lent his support to Colerne RFC's bid to improve their club's facilities.

Barnes - now a broadcaster with Sky Sports - and fellow former Bath player Chris Lilley, a three-time National Cup winner, backed the Dorset & Wilts Two North club's 'Buy a Brick' initiative, aimed at raising money for new changing facilities.

The club's secretary John Hutchinson said: "Our aim is to offer sports and social activities to Colerne and the surrounding villages to benefit our community.

"We founded Colerne rugby club in 1985 as a not-for-profit organisation. It has been thanks to the hard work of volunteers and the generosity of our members, friends and benefactors that has seen our club thrive for over 30 years.

"Today we have the largest membership in our history - this has led to our biggest fundraising challenge.

Anyone wanting to support the project by buying a brick or making a donation can go to mydonate.bt.com and enter barnabywarne2, where they will find more information.
