FORMER, Bath, England and British Lions forward Nigel Redman was the guest at Devizes RFC’s end-of-season dinner last Friday.

The main award winner on the night was Rory Brown who bagged both the first XV player of the year award and coaches player of the year awards.

Third XV player of the year went to solid prop Tom Andrew for some consistent shifts in an ever-changing line up this season.

Martin Bills bagged the second XV player of the year award for sterling efforts throughout the campaign in a team struggling for form, which culminated in a series of solid performances in the first XV towards the end of the season.

Tim Alchin was awarded club man of the year for his playing ability at the age of 49, having amassed hundreds of first XV appearances.

Seb Hutchings was awarded the Ray Smith Memorial Trophy, for most significant contribution of a player this season.

Devizes Colts defeated Wimborne 57-22 to win the Dorset & Wilts U18 Bowl.

Five Devizes Ladies played for Dorset & Wilts in the 50-12 win over Cornwall in Launceston – Emily Pratt, Leah Reynolds, Kate Stradling, Alice Bowerbank and Georgia Walker, bagged a try in the victory.

Devizes’ Lewis Dodds played for Dorset & Wilts U20s at Birmingham & Moseley RFC on Sunday as they lost in the Jason Leonard Shield Final 29-20 to Cheshire.
