ONLY two games survived in the Wiltshire Senior League Premier Division on Saturday, but there were still plenty of goals raining in.

Kintbury Rangers moved into third place in the table as six second-half strikes earned them a comfortable 7-0 triumph over Malmesbury Victoria Development.

Rangers struck the woodwork twice in a dominant first half, but had only George Smith’s strike to show for their efforts at the break.

But the floodgates opened after half-time, Shaun Thorp volleying in on a follow-up before top scorer Charlie Allsop was brought down and got up to convert the resulting penalty himself.

Thorp netted another before Allsop added a second for his 25th goal of the campaign.

Luke Johnson added the sixth after good work from substitute Fabio Pinto and Smith rounded off the contest with the seventh.

Royal Wootton Bassett Town Development avenged an opening-day defeat at the hands of Ludgershall Sports as they cruised to a 5-1 win at the Gerrard Buxton Sports Ground.

Harrison Gough opened the scoring for the home side before top scorer Ryan Withers scored twice to take his tally for the season to 14.

The visitors responded before half-time, but Ben Lodge and George Lance wrapped up the result for the home side, who moved level on points with fourth-placed Shrewton United.
