ZEAL who started the day top of Division Two saw their brief spell at the summit come to an end following the 3-0 defeat at Melksham Town B, whose win takes them to top of the tree.

Zeals trailed 1-0 at the interval to a Gage Jones goal before Stuart Greener, in only his third game for the hosts, made it 2-0 and a second from Jones wrapped up the points for Mark Lewis’ side.

With their home pitch at Clarendon Academy unplayable Greyhound moved their clash to St Mary’s, home of local rivals The Stiffs, and led 4-0 at one point.

However, a spirited fightback from the Stiffs saw them claim a point from a 4-4 draw.

Lee Ridout gave Greyhound the lead, Darren Brewer doubled the score when he lashed home a stunning 18-yard volley from a corner and when he added his second to make it 3-0 at the break the contest looked over.

Simon Parfitt put Greyhound 4-0 up, but the Stiffs who also drew 4-4 the previous weekend had other ideas.

Steve Lewin started the comeback, a Sean O’Brien own goal gave them more hope and Tom Quadling cut the gap to the odd goal.

The fightback was complete when Fosu Gharban fashioned an equaliser.
