CHIPPENHAM Town recorded back-to-back wins for the first time in the National League South on Saturday as they claimed a 3-1 success away at Bognor Regis Town.

Swindon Town loanee Scott Twine got proceedings under way for Mark Collier’s side when he snatched a goal just before the break.

Holding a one-goal advantage at half-time, Chippenham came flying out of the blocks in the second instalment as David Pratt was able to double the visitors' tally.

Michael Jones was then on hand to grab Chippenham’s third goal before Ibra Sekajja notched a late consolation for the home side in the 85th minute.

The win also means Chippenham are now unbeaten in three games, following their goalless draw with Wealdstone at the start of the month, and Tuesday’s 7-0 crushing of Shrewton in the Wiltshire Senior Cup.

Bluebirds boss Collier believes his side are now growing into the division as they look to keep their unbeaten run ticking over.

“It is a big three points for us and it backed up a decent performance against Wealdstone a week ago. Now we are looking to gain some consistency," said Collier.

"We were quite comfortable in the first half, even though conditions were difficult.

“The wind was bad down by the coast but I thought we dealt with that and scored a decent first goal - young Scott Twine just dinked the ball over the goalkeeper.

“We went in at half-time 1-0 up and, in all fairness, it could have been two or three, but it wasn’t to be.

“We came out of the blocks quickly in the second half and went straight at them. Soon enough, it was 3-0 and the game was over.”

While the conditions weren’t to his liking down on the south coast, Collier was pleased with the surface his players played on.

“They do play for fun down and the pitch was great,” he added.

“We got possession off of them in good places and had a bit of a shape about us.

"When you score early in the second half, you should be able to sit on that lead, and that is what we were able to do.

“We were always a threat going forward and in the end, it turned out to be a comfortable victory.”
