IT was disappointing that the rain got the better of us against Leicestershire but it was obviously a great game for me on a personal level.
People are always asking me about my bowling and I’ve worked hard on it over the winter. I bowled well and deserved to take five wickets.
It was a proud moment for me and with the way the wickets are at the moment, a lot of sides will be going with four seamers.
Obviously, Danny Briggs isn’t with us at the moment and I’m sure he’ll be back in the side when the wickets are right for spinners but hopefully I get the chance to take a few more wickets in the future.
I’m really pleased to see Michael Carberry in the England Lions squad.
Carbs is a great player and he’s helped me a lot with my batting but he’s also a really good friend too.
He’s only played in one test but he did well and I wouldn’t bet against seeing him in an England shirt again.
We got started against Northamptonshire yesterday and hopefully we’ll get a win, like we set out to do before every game.
I think we’ve been playing some good championship cricket so far this season.
I also want to wish Goatacre the best of luck for the season.
