WE’VE kept our season alive by winning against Derbyshire on Monday and making sure that we’ve still got a chance of winning a trophy this season.

We knew that it was a must-win game and that the pressure was on – if we lost, we might have been out of the competition so it was our quarter-final really.

Everyone was disappointed with how t20 finals day went and we wanted to make sure that we came back from losing in the semis there.

We probably didn’t play the greatest cricket on Monday but we got an alright score and managed to defend it. Jimmy Adams had a great knock though and that put us in a good position.

We’re happy because the club has got a massive game to look forward to now with the semi-final being at home against Glamorgan.

They’re a side that have caused a few upsets this season and they’re a pretty solid all-round side.

I think that if they came to us and won the semi-final, it would be a bit of a giant-killing because we’re a strong side at home – we obviously need to make sure that doesn’t happen.

It’s definitely an advantage being at home but we know that we’ve got to perform on the day, just like in any other game.

The lads all also want to try and get to Lords for Dimi (Mascarenhas) – a final at somewhere as special as that would be the perfect way for him to end a brilliant career.

We’re back playing in the county championship this week and we’ve got a really tough game at Lancashire (which started yesterday).

Lancashire have been playing some great cricket and their bowling attack has been fantastic – Simon Katich is having an unbelievable season too We know that we’ve underachieved in the four-day competition so far this season and if we want to go up, then we’ve got to win every single game between now and the end of the season. It’s as simple as that.

It’s not going to be easy at all, especially away to the best team in our division this week too, but we’ve got to give it a go.
