SHRIVENHAM Cricket Club are on the lookout for new players as they seek to strengthen their hand early in the 2019 season.

Reduced numbers has seen the club limited to running just one Saturday side this season, so they are eager to boost their ranks again.

Shrivvy compete in Division Four of the Oxfordshire Cricket Association, with home matches played at Shrivenham Rec.

After a glorious promotion-winning season in Division Six in 2017, Shrivvy have since risen two levels.

They followed up that success with a highly-creditable maiden season in Division Four last summer, winning half of their fixtures and finishing in the top half of the table.

A club spokesperson said: “There were key contributions from the whole squad last season and plenty of encouraging signs.

“The 2019 season promises to be another momentous year as we aim to strengthen on the field and continue to develop our ambitious plans for the club.

“We are actively seeking new players of all ages and abilities to join one of the most friendly, inclusive, and competitive clubs in the area.

“We have net training sessions on Tuesday evenings were those interested in the game are always welcome to get involved.”

Shrivvy have won one of three league matches they have played this season and currently sit sixth in the 10-team table.
