SWINDON Brunel Amateur Boxing Club coach Brian Roberts thanked local company Verelogic after the IT business bought £600 worth of boxing gear for his members.

After enquiring to a number of businesses in the region, Roberts finally found success with the IT solutions company, who offered to put hundreds of pounds into funding 20 sets of new kit.

With around 60 members at their Havelock Square gym – opened almost 11 months ago – Roberts said the kit will go along way to helping every prospective athlete achieve their dreams.

Discussing the new kit and why it was necessary, Roberts said: “Verelogic bought it for us and put our logo on the front and back of the shirts – they’ve bought us shorts and vests as well, so we’re chuffed.

“We used to be called Horseshoe Amateur Boxing Club, so we had different kit altogether. We changed our name, so obviously we needed a new kit.

“We didn’t have anything before – wrong colours, wrong name, so by Verelogic supplying us kit, we can now go out there and present ourselves in a more professional light.”

Roberts, who also doubles up as the gym’s owner, said the kit change was important after the club switched governing bodies.

He said. “We were with The Alliance, but we’ve now gone back to England Boxing.

“Because of that, we had to get a new kit in order to compete.

“We’ve now got 20 kits for our members to use in training and in bouts.”
