RICHARD Hannon is keen to forget Rougemont's effort in the Classic Trial at Sandown on Saturday.
Having taking a valuable sales race at Newmarket on his previous start in impressive style, the Julie Wood-owned colt was fancied to run a big race.
However, like so many at the Esher venue at the weekend, he got stuck in the mud and will be given a bit of a break.
"The jockeys reckoned that it was only just raceable, and clearly Rougemont did not go in the ground as well as we hoped he would," Collingbourne Ducis trainer Hannon told richardhannonracing.tv.
"We will freshen him up and run him again on a better surface.
"There is another big sales race coming up at Newmarket, or we could have a look at the Hampton Court Stakes at Royal Ascot."
