CORSHAM have named Dan Jeffries as the man to lead them on their next Southern Counties South campaign.

Jeffries has been appointed head coach to the senior coaching team and will be assisted by player-coach Dave Finlay.

Jeffries guided Melksham to the Dorset & Wilts One North title in 2010-11 and has also coached at a county level where his age group remained undefeated for six years and produced 28 international players.

Finlay has also coached at a county level and is a former Bristol Academy player wishing to move into a player-coach role.

Both will officially meet the players and members of the club at the end-of-season presentation dinner on May 19 and the club's annual general meeting on May 22.

Corsham chairman Adrian Jones said: “ With the ongoing success of our junior section, who this season again produced two England Internationals at U16 and U18, plus our seniors playing some excellent rugby in what is a tough and competitive league, we are delighted to announce the appointments of both Dan Jeffries and Dave Finlay.

"They bring with them a new dynamic and despite the fact the season has more or less just finished, we look forward to another promising and successful season.

"The club is delighted with the appointments and we eagerly await the pre-season preparations as we prepare to build on the last few years successes.”

Jeffries said “I am looking forward to the challenge in front of me as I aim to build on the strong reputation Corsham has in both Dorset & Wiltshire.

"I am impressed with the facilities, set-up and strategy at Corsham and the junior section that churns out top qualities players and performances is something the club should be proud of.

"I look forward to working closely with all the coaches and players at Corsham RFC as we aim for a top place league position.''
