IT was a pretty exciting finish to last week’s County Championship game against Glamorgan last Sunday and it feels like we’re the side that always has close finishes like that.

We needed 90 to win going into the final day and we didn’t even get started until about 4pm.

We thought the weather was going to beat us but we got there in the end and it was a great win for the club.

Sean Ervine and Hamza Riazuddin got us over the line and Chris Wood got a vital 20 too.

Four-day cricket is very tough and it’s mentally tiring but we’ve only played two games and there’s no way that the players are feeling sluggish or anything like that.

We had a really good pre-season and we’re right back into the thick of things now but there’s no way that you’d start to feel tired until it gets to the end of the summer.

The start of the season is a hard time for batsmen because of the weather and it really does favour the bowlers.

I feel like I’ve started the season all right – I’ve got a few 30s and I think that a big score is just around the corner for me.

We start against Leicestershire today and we’ll be looking for a win after getting our first one of the season last week.

We played them in Barbados (in pre-season) and they’re a solid side – they’ve also got Abdul Razzaq as their overseas player so he’ll be one to watch out for.
