LOAN star Lee Holmes is determined to erase his Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final agony by helping to fire Swindon Town into npower League One.

Holmes started Sunday’s 2-0 Wembley defeat by Chesterfield less than two weeks after signing on loan from Southampton and twice went close to scoring in the first half.

But there was to be no fairytale ending as Town were undone by Oliver Risser’s own goal and a Craig Westcarr’s late strike in the second period.

“I’m obviously really disappointed – it’s not a nice thing to experience and it’s not nice seeing them lifting the trophy,” said Holmes, who saw his parent club lift the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy in 2010.

“It’s a cup final and the quicker we can get over this and get back to the league, the better.

“We need to make sure we put this right and make sure what we achieve this season is as good as it should be.”

Town host Bristol Rovers on Saturday (3pm).
