TROWBRIDGE completed the double over Corsham in a highly entertaining Southern Counties South derby.

Trowbridge were without Adam Sullivan, Mark Durrant and Nick Lawes in the pack and Lewis Jordan on the wing.

Joe Knight returned to the centre for his first game for a few weeks and George Leat made his first team debut coming off the bench in the second half.

In the first half both sides had their chances but the defences were up to the task.

Corsham almost scored from an interception but winger Aaron Bray put in a superb tackle to stop the move short of the home line.

It was the home team who were first on the score board when a period of pressure resulted in hooker Dave Martin crossing the line. Lloyd Davis added the conversion.

Trowbridge should have scored a second try before half time but a fine attacking move ended with Corsham full back Andy Williamson intercepting close to his line and racing the length of the field to score under the posts.

The try was converted by Dan Goldworthy.

Trowbridge notably upped their game in the second half and soon took the lead after a typical Sean Jones run ended with him scoring the first of his two tries.

A Davis penalty extended the home lead and Leat was given his first appearance for the team.

He almost made a dream start but was pulled down a few metres from the try line.

The game was made safe when Jones scored his second try 10 minutes from the end, converted by Davis.

To their credit Corsham applied a spell of pressure for the final few minutes pinning Trowbridge in their own 22.

Full back Andy Williamson scored a fine individual try and the visitors came away with a losing bonus point when Goldworthy kicked a penalty at the end of the game.
