DEVIZES mayor Sue Evans presented the prizes at Devizes Budo Club’s 2011 closed club championships on Saturday The mayor was joined by consort Peter Evans and club president Roy Chandler as entrants were split into various weight categories Harry Britten claimed the U25kgs prize, with Thomas Kirwen (U27), Matus Tremblay (U30), Kieren McCann (U34), Luca Tremblay (U38), Sam Emery (U42), Luke Marchant (U50), Ayrton Jiminez-Aldridge (U55) and Thomas Meaden (Over 55) also winning gold medals.
A pairs and team event were also held, the lightweight and heavyweight combination of Mollie House and Hamish Carter-Humphries winning pairs gold.
Trophies were also presented to the annual challenge ladders and to Kieren McCann for the throw of the day, which ended with a bonfire and fireworks n ON Sunday, the Tremblay brothers won medals at the 61 Judo Club Open event at High Wycombe.
Matis took silver in the U27 kgs event, with Luca earning bronze in the U38kgs) section. Jack Racklander also competed in the U27 category.
