SCOTT Nicholls has been passed fit to return to the Swindon team for Saturday night’s Elite League trip to Eastbourne.

The Great Britain star suffered burns after crashing in last Thursday’s home win against the Eagles and was forced to miss last night’s Abbey Stadium defeat against King’s Lynn.

Nicholls return will be a boost to the Robins as they head to the Arlington track hoping for a better performance than their previous brief visit earlier this season.

They trailed 24-12 back in April, but the meeting was abandoned because of bad weather before a result could be declared.

A couple of other changes from last night’s home reverse sees Ricky Kling coming in as a guest at reserve, and with Maciej Janowski unavailable, rider-replacement will be in operation.

Eastbourne will be without their injured Swede Simon Gustafsson following his heavy crash in Sunday’s World U21 Final at Poole and will also be using the rider-replacement facility.

Robins boss Jan Staechmann is looking for his team to produce a good performance against the Elite League play-off chasers.

He said: "The team spirit is good but what we need now is come consistency.

"We could and should have won on Thursday against King's Lynn, I really do feel that.

"I wish the boys well as I am at the Italian Grand Prix for television which was booked before I took the Swindon job."
