RAMSBURY rower Michael Evans won a bronze medal for the Great British Rowing Team at the Under 23 World Championships in Amsterdam.
Evans was part of the men’s eight which overcame the weather and the Germans in a tight, exciting finish to claim third spot on the Bosbaan in Holland.
The men's eight were in fourth at the halfway mark but found enough pace in the final 500m to overhaul Germany by just over a second to take bronze behind the USA and the Czech Republic.
It was the second bronze in as many years for Evans, who is currently studying history at Princeton University in America, after coming third in the world last year in the eight.
