SWINDON Robins are back in action at the Abbey on Thursday when they face Elite League newcomers King’s Lynn (7.30).

And Jan Staechmann’s side are hoping to build on last week’s hard fought home win over Eastbourne in a bid to climb away from the foot of the table.

Unfortunately Robins will be without Scott Nicholls until the weekend having suffered burns in his first ride against Eastbourne last Thursday. Lee Richardson is called up to replace the Great Britain star against the Stars and Kozza Smith also comes in as a guest at reserve.

Skipper Simon Stead said: “It’s been a frustrating season so far in some ways, but there have been some good points.

“Last week was good although we were a bit disappointed with our display at Coventry. Hopefully we can get things right against King’s Lynn and pull off an important win in front of our home crowd.”

The Stars have made a successful jump into the top flight and in Kenneth Bjerre they have one of the best riders in the world with Grand Prix experience.

And the meeting sees the return of former Robins favourites Mads Korneliussen and Oliver Allen.

SWINDON: Lee Richardson, Jesper B Monberg, Maciej Janowski, Nicolai Klindt, Simon Stead, Kozza Smith, Cory Gathercole.

KING’S LYNN: Kenneth Bjerre, David Howe, Oliver Allen, Mads Korneliussen, Niels Kristian Iversen, Filip Sitera, Sam Masters.
