DELHI marks another stop on the journey to London 2012 and beyond for Corsham Paralympian Stephanie Millward.

The 28-year-old, based in Swansea, competes in S9 50 and 100m freestyle and 100 butterfly in India, having returned from the IPC World Championships in Eindhoven last month with a sackful of silver and bronze medals.

Millward was 17 and aiming to swim in the Olympics when she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, but more than 10 years on, swam at the Beijing Paralympics just six months after returning to the pool.

And her sights are now set on not only the Games in London in just under two years, but the 2016 event in Rio de Janeiro.

“I’m determined to win as many races as I can so when I get to 2012 I can just win it and be really proud of myself – I can’t wait,” she said.

“I live each day as it comes, which is what I learnt when I got MS, and see what comes my way and see what was meant to be.

“Hopefully my times are still getting faster and I’ll get the PBs (personal best times) that I used to get when I was 15.

“In some ways I can’t wait until 2012 because I can’t wait to see what I’m going to get, what I’m going to do.”
