DAVE Turner doesn’t believe that his Wootton Bassett Town side go into this weekend’s FA Vase clash with Cadbury Heath as favourites.

Bassett travel to the Toolstation League First Division outfit in the first round proper of the Vase after dismissing Devizes Town 4-0 earlier in the month.

“We’ve played a few teams in the cups this year from that division and they’ve been no fools,” said Turner.

“We needed penalties to get past Bradford in the FA Cup and Devizes were the only ones who we were comfortable against, so we know it’ll be a tough game.”

Turner’s men warmed up for this weekend’s Vase trip with a 2-1 win over Wantage Town last Saturday.

Striker Sam Collier netted twice against his former club in the first-half, with the hosts finishing with 10 men after player-manager Andy Wallbridge saw red for shoving a Bassett player.

“It was really harsh and never a red card for their guy but it was a good win for us and we’ve had a solid start to the season,” said Turner.

Chris Oram will miss the trip to Cadbury Heath due to his wedding while Jon Beedon is struggling with a back injury.
