TOMMY Dryden has stepped down as manager of Devizes Town less than two months into the season.
Former Malmesbury and Calne boss Dryden returned from holiday to manage the team to a first away victory for six months at Portishead last Saturday.
But he subsequently informed the club that, due to unforeseen short-term family commitments, he was stepping down.
A club statement said: "Tommy came into the role with great enthusiasm and commitment but feels that on a personal level he could not offer the commitment required to the club.
"We wish him all the best in his personal and football management. He has always been a popular manager with the chairman, secretary and the players and will be missed but always welcome at the club.''
Devizes have quickly filled the vacancy left by Dryden's depature by appointing former Shrivenham boss Mark Love has manager.
Darren Smart will be the assistant manager, with the pair taking charge of their first game on Saturday against Bradford Town.
