CHIPPENHAM were unable to follow up their home win against Exmouth as Chinnor ran in five tries.

The home side went in front after 12 minutes with centre Richard Williams crossing.

Chippenham hit back with a Dave Slee penalty following a great break upfield by Jon Squire.

But Chinnor’s forwards began to control the game and second row Matt Hutchings went over.

Chippenham again hit back through the boot of Slee, but from the restart, Chinnor scored a third try through centre Sam Stoop.

The visitors conceded an early second-half penalty, but in the 48th minute, man of the match Karl Brant used his strength to power over under the posts, although Slee failed to convert.

On 65 minutes Chinnor scored their fourth and bonus point try, when back row Macsen Williams dived over.

Chippenham unluckily lost Matt Bye to the sin bin for a technical offence, but the defence held firm for the 10 minutes.

Eventually, Williams scored his second try, Toby Prescott converting.

Chippenham winger Darren McMillan went over late on in the corner.

They host Barnstaple at Allington Field on Saturday (2.30pm).
