All Cannings triumphed at the Mid Wilts School Sports Partnership's year 5 and 6 hockey festival for Devizes and Lavington Primary Schools.

The following Schools took part in the event, whicch took place on Wednesday at Devizes School. Nursteed, Southbroom Juniors, All Cannings, Urchfront, Chirton, St Barnabas, Dauntsey’s, Wansdyke and Rowdeford School.

The Year 12 Sports Ambassadors from Devizes School did an excellent job of umpiring and coaching, motivating the children throughout the afternoon. Ollie Smith from Devizes Hockey club has been coaching hockey in the Schools in preparation for the festival funded by Amanda Cox, Kennet District Council.

The afternoon was filled with a high level of hockey skills and enthusiasm for the game with some great play.

All the children in both events showed commitment and good sportsmanship. Nursteed and All Cannings Primary School competed in the final with All Cannings Primary School winning 1-0.

Both Schools will represent Mid Wilts School Sports Partnership in the county final.

The schools and the partnership paid tribute to the hard work of Lu Clune and Bex Francis from Devizes School for organising and running the event on the day.
