Two-goal hero David Pratt believes he is back to his best and has put it all down to sheer hard work and determination.

The young forward has been an almost ever present in the Bluebirds side this season but suffered a crisis of confidence when the team were struggling which saw him moved out to the right of midfield.

However he was restored to his preferred striking position against Corby and converted twice from the spot to cap a fine all-round display.

“They were two penalties but you’ve still got to take them and they’ve come off so its good,” said a delighted Pratt.

“I worked hard. That’s one of the key points of my game to work hard, make the defenders think and never give them an easy time and the harder you work the luckier you get.

“We knew that were not as high in the league as Corby and so it was going to be tough but I think as a team we stuck together and it counted.

“We were doing a lot of the right stuff and not taking our chances but now we are. Ten goals in a week is the difference between winning and losing games.”

Manager Adie Mings was equally full of praise for the rejuvenated striker and said he is the type of player that everyone would like in their side.

“Dave’s had a slight dip in confidence four or five games ago but you can never fault him for his energy, enthusiasm and work rate,” he said.

“Even when things aren’t going well for him he will always work, harry and hassle for the team.

“I’m pleased again that he got two goals against Corby but his overall contribution was fantastic.”
