Striker Kevin Slack could be set to leave Chippenham Town and is weighing up a series of more lucrative offers from rival clubs.

The recently announced budget cuts have resulted in several members of the squad being forced to take a cut in salary but as yet no high-profile players have left the club.

Defender Cortez Belle and striker Sean Seavill were the closest to moves before suspension and injury delayed their respective exits.

Manager Adie Mings confirmed that Slack has not contacted him to discuss the situation but believes his departure is imminent.

“I think Kevin has decided to leave and believe he’s been offered a better deal elsewhere,” he said.

“I couldn’t tell you which clubs are interested because he hasn’t spoken to me about it.”

The former Bishops Cleeve striker is not under contract at Hardenhuish Park and thus eligible to leave the club on seven days notice, much like midfielder Marc Richards earlier in the season. His loss would come as a blow to the side with him finally showing his best form after a difficult first few weeks at the club.

Slack scored in the 4-0 win over Mangotsfield to force his way into the first team and netted in the win against Corby at the weekend.
