Midfielder Kris Beasley has urged his teammates to get back to winning ways tomorrow against Chard Town.

Melksham Town are enjoying a season in which they are exceeding all expectations to sit nine points off leaders Dawlish Town with three games in hand.

However they are in the midst of a mini-slump by their standards and followed a defeat at home to Bristol Manor Farm with a bore draw at Welton Rovers.

“It’s vital that we pick up a win,” said Beasley.

“We’ve got games in hand but we need to make sure we stay in and around the leaders.”

The creative playmaker was substituted just 15 minutes into the match against Welton and his chances of starting against Chard are no better than 50/50.

His replacement in that game, defender Ryan Throwbridge, was brought off later in the match and is also suffering from a niggling knee problem. He is unlikely to start on Saturday.

Meanwhile Dan Sloan, who signed from Corsham Town two weeks ago, is set to keep his place up front alongside Nat Auckland and will be keen to grab a goal to show his new employers what he is capable of.
